By creating an integrated supply chain operation that links tobacco fields, manufacturing plants and warehouse/ distribution centers from Mexico and on to retailers across Canada, Ryder helped Imperial Tobacco design and implement a dramatic change in it’s distribution strategy from a wholesaler-driven model to an in-house direct to store sales system. All this, while maintaining market share and increasing levels of retail customer satisfaction , as government regulations continued to restrict their ability to market direct to end consumers.
